International Mother’s Day event was beautifully celebrated by our students of Year 1. Mother's Day is an event honoring motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence mothers have in our society. Mother's Day is a heartwarming occasion offering an opportunity to celebrate the unconditional love of a mother through various activities. Students of year 1 were excited to watch a story for Mother’s Day followed by a creative activity to create a card and write beautiful messages for their mothers.

To introduce ‘Pi’ in mathematics and celebrate the International Mathematics Day. Year 1 students celebrated the International Mathematics Day with immense excitement and enthusiasm. They were informed that maths day this day is also known as Pi day as the date is 14/3 and its relevance to our daily life. Students enjoyed the Pi Day Art activity as they drew the circular objects like pizza, clock, pie and many more and identified parts of a whole. Further they were explained that Pi is the longest decimal number in mathematics. It was a great enriching experience for students with a lot of new learning. To raise awareness on Children’s rights and welfare. The students of year 1I celebrated the assembly on Emirati Children’s Day. Children conveyed a very strong message on children’s Right to Play, being the theme of this year. The assembly showcased insights on children’s rights to a healthy, safe and supportive environment for their development. Students shared their books and the interesting information they had acquired with their peers with great enthusiasm. That was not all! Safe Internet Day was observed on the 8th of February, where we had parents from Year 1 reading out a story about ‘Smartie the Penguin’ making safer choices while using devices and surfing the net. In Year 2, a few students shared a few tips on the same with the class. They realised to be SMART when they go on the internet. They learnt that we can never trust people on the internet and to never give our full information. They promised to have the quality of being kind to other people online and not to use nasty words. The Makers Day of 2022 witnessed invigorating and stimulating learning experiences. Applying their knowledge of properties of different materials, the Magnificent Makers of year 2 created working models or machineries that can be used in our everyday life. To develop a good understanding of theme of this year's Children’s Mental Health Week - Growing Together. It’s Children’s Mental Health Week and we’re off to a flying start with the students practicing some Yoga poses during the registration time. On the theme 'Growing Together', the students had a discussion on the importance of good mental wellbeing. For our wellbeing, we need the support of our family and friends. So, taking this thought further, the Year 1 students created their own ‘Support Balloons’ and reflected on the people in their lives who help them to grow. Whereas the students of Year 2 filled a Well Being Wall with messages of what made them feel better when they were upset. Some reflected on their favourite place and remembered what they might hear, see and feel when there are in that place. To celebrate Writer’s day with fun filled activities. International Writer’s day was celebrated across primary section on 3rd March. It was a fun filled day with lots of activities for the year 1 and 2 children. Students had an opportunity to learn about the famous writers from around the world. Later, during the day, they enjoyed asking questions to their peers, depicting the traits of their favourite writers. Ms. Piya Jayarajan, enlightened the students with her thoughts on being a writer. She shared the importance of writing and encouraged students to make books for their best friends. It was a wonderful day for year1 and 2. To instill love for reading amongst the children. World Book Day has changed lives through inculcating love for books and shared reading. Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success. This is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. Year 1 students were a part of this celebration through various activities conducted for them. Their excitement was palpable.
